The Global Experiences Team believes that every student should have access to opportunities and events that improve employability and professional skills.
We run a range of different activities for post-graduate students, including the Professional Practice Module, Mentoring Programme, information workshops, employer lectures, business trips and more!

PG Professional Practice Module
The Professional Practice Masters (also known as a postgraduate placement year, internship, or management traineeship) is an excellent way for postgraduate students to gain postgraduate level experience in the workplace. The PPM enables students whose work experience was gained elsewhere to learn how to operate in another country and offers a chance to redirect their career if that’s their aim. For students without prior work experience the PPM is a perfect way to gain a foothold in the world of work and set students on the path to their career.
Students are supported to find their placement opportunity through information sessions and one-to-one guidance, as well as connecting with employers and opportunities through the Global Experiences Team.
If you’re a postgraduate student with any questions about the road to finding your placement, get in touch with the team for help and advice!
PG University Business Challenge
Postgraduates from the Business School can apply for this year’s round of the Global Masters’ Postgraduate Business Challenge. Students can take part in a simulation-based business competition which has been running for the past 23 years. By participating in the UBC, students will improve their knowledge of the business world, develop their employability skills, meet potential employers and enhance their CV – as well as cash prizes for the winners!
Applications are currently open for the Academic Year 2022-23.
Matchday Squad
During the last academic year, the Global Experiences Team worked closely with Lincoln City Football Club to create a squad of volunteers to help boost fan engagement on match days. The current Matchday Squad have made such a fantastic impression that the football club are looking for more participants! All students from across the University are invited to participate. LIBS100 Employability Trip
As well as visits to enhance your global experience and understanding, the LIBS100 funded field trips also include an employability focused visit to businesses and organisations. The last LIBS100 employability trip was to Killarney, Ireland and featured excursions to local businesses and companies, national parks, and employability focused workshops, and enhanced the student understanding of how local tourism benefits economies, as well as the skills and experience employers look for within job roles and applications.
The next LIBS100 Employability trip is currently being set – check back later for more information!
