Lincoln International Business School (LIBS) master’s students have an opportunity to experience a one-year work placement as part of the two-year programme. Jan Tunley, LIBS Postgraduate Employability Officer visits many students on location to ensure that they are enjoying the placement, are fully supported and progressing well. Mosunmola and Anita both found Professional Practice placements in Newark, Nottinghamshire, with Loxbridge Plus .

Both placement students had been working as carers for the company part-time. When they told their manager, Alida Miko, they needed placements, Alida was very happy to offer them full time work in the office. The business is expanding, and she was struggling to keep up with the administration of the company with the current level of staffing in the office.

Between their roles, Mosunmola and Anita have been reviewing all paperwork for compliance, following up on DBS checks, BRP cards, right-to-work, references, cv claims, etc. Background checking of applicants is extensive as to ensure compliance they must be thorough. If applicants pass all these checks, the students then carry out a phone interview.

Mosunmola manages staff profiles, ensuring that they are all up-to-date, with in-date training, etc., and Anita majors on recruiting and onboarding. Both students deal with staff issues. They have managed the move from frontline staff to the office smoothly and this is a testament to their excellent people skills. The students say how well the team works together and how they have taken to their roles. Alida is delighted to have them onboard. Success all round!
